This market bag is made by women at Kinawataka Women's Initiative in Kampala, Uganda, from recycled drinking straws. The women collect straws from bars and restaurants, then wash and disinfect them before creating uniquely woven bags in their homes. Kinawataka Women's Initiative is helping people and the planet by training women to create high-quality products from recycled drinking straws, paying fair wages, building capacity among women entrepreneurs, and raising awareness about environmental issues.
